It was a Remembrance Day thriller for the Cariboo Cougars.

Even with the likes of Hunter Floris and Grady Thomas up front, the defending BC Major Midget League champs found a way to edge the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds on Saturday by a 4-3 score.

The T-Birds rode the back of veteran forward Justin Plett who potted a hat-trick in the contest.

However, the Cougars also received some timely offense from affiliate player Connor Bowie who notched his first goal in Cariboo uniform.

Riley Krane and Craig MacDonald also chipped in with singles in regulation to keep the game tied at three after 60 minutes.

The hero on this day was Brandon Rowley who potted the game-winner in overtime to improve their record to 12-2-2-0 and remain atop the league standings.

Both teams play again tomorrow at 10AM from Kin 1.
