The Cariboo Cougars scored 7 goals for the second straight game en route to a 7-3 trouncing of the Tisdale Trojans at the Mac's AAA Midget Tournament in Calgary Thursday night. It was a rough start to the game with Nathan Warren letting in two early Tisdale goals being replaced by David Readman with the aim of sparking the Cats to life. The move appeared to work as the Cougars dominated the rest of the game, finishing with a strong third period the team dedicated to forward Logan Styler who left earlier with a concussion and will miss the remainder of the tournament. Nathan Craft and Tanner Fjellstrom each had a pair of goals with Eli Jarvis, Ryan Gagnon, Jake LeBrun, and Brett Roulston also putting the puck into the Trojans net. The Cougars now sit with a 2-1 record, behind both Pirati Chomutov and the Calgary Northstars in their pool. The Cougars must win their final round-robin game Friday night against the Northstart in order to have a chance at advancing to the playoff round. |
