Head Coach, Trevor Sprague: Outside of his passion for hockey, Trevor Sprague devotes himself to his young daughters, Julianne & Katherine, also big fans of the Cariboo Cougars. His lovely wife, Jessie, although not always as big a hockey fan as the rest of the Sprague family, supports him in his hockey career. Sometimes in the summer Trevor enjoys taking the boat out of the driveway, but mostly he would rather be at the rink or on his Blackberry.Trevor is currently scouting for the Portland Winterhawks, was Head Coach this past year for the Under 17 Team North, and also had an opportunity to coach in the Air Canada Cup, now known as the coveted Telus Cup. In his second season as Head Coach of the Cariboo Cougars, Trevor is dedicated to developing the top hockey players in the North, and looking forward to seeing them achieve their goals and dreams. He believes that this season the coaching staff and the program that they have developed are second to none, and is excited to begin what he knows will be an incredible and successful season.
Assistant Coach, Todd Parker: Todd Parker was born and raised in Saskatchewan and moved to Prince George in 2001. Since becoming a Prince George resident, Todd has contributed to the Prince George hockey community by participating in player evaluations, coaching and playing in the adult recreational league. Last Season, Todd played an off-ice role with the coaching staff of the Cariboo Cougars. He enjoyed working with the athletes and coaches of a well organized and competitive major midget league team.Todd joined the High Performance Program this past season working in Prince George as an evaluator with the U-17 program and plans to continue to develop his coaching skills to the highest level possible.Todd looks forward to working along side head coach Trevor Sprague, assistant coach James Morrison and the Cariboo Cougars players and parents for the 2009/2010 season.
Assistant Coach, Chris Rowland: Chris was born and raised in Prince George and has had a love for the game of hockey from the first time he remembers watching Hockey Night in Canada. He played Jr. A with the Prince George Spruce Kings before heading to school at the University of British Columbia to play another 4 years in the CIS. After a brief hiatus, Chris played a season overseas in Holland and Belgium. Before heading overseas, Chris began coaching with the PGMHA at the Peewee 'AA' level. Since then Chris has been involved with a few more teams at the 'AAA' level in Bantams and Midget. Outside of coaching, Chris stays busy with his own hockey, recreational sports and of course, spending time with his girlfriend Sonya. When he's not busy playing, he is a firefighter with the City of Prince George. Chris is looking forward to the upcoming season and has high expectations right from the start as previous teams from the north have proven to highly competitive in the BCMML.
Manager, Andy Beesley: Andy has managed the Cariboo Cougars for the past 3 seasons, and has managed many rep teams over the past decade. In addition, he has managed U16 and U17 teams for BC Hockey’s “High Performance” program. Andy estimates he’s travelled well over 150,000 kilometers with hockey teams, and even helps out with driving the bus from time to time. Andy’s background also includes skate sharpening, teaching the “Speak Out” hockey program to hockey coaching staff, maintaining a “Safety Trainer” certificate, and many other aspects of the game. For his professional life, Andy manages the CN Centre and Community Arenas in Prince George, and works closely with the Cougars, Spruce Kings, and all other user groups. Andy lives with his wife Gillian and son Marcus, in Salmon Valley BC.
Trainer, Pamela Parker: Pamela and her husband, Ken, moved to Prince George in May 2008 where Pamela is a full time physiotherapist at CBI Health Centre and Ken is a contractor. Pamela's interest in hockey began at a very young age when she would watch her dad play at the community rink, and through her involvement in school sports Pamela quickly realized her true passion and greatest potential was in the sport of volleyball. Her involvement in volleyball lead to a scholarship to the University of Alberta's varsity volleyball program and a position on the Canadian Junior National Volleyball Team. Pamela completed her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology at the University of Alberta, and chose to continue her education at the U of A by completing her Master's degree in Physiotherapy. While completing her Master's degree, Pamela combined her knowledge of elite sport performance, sport science, and rehabilitation to work with University of Alberta Athletics as a Varsity trainer. Pamela is very excited to bring this unique combination of knowledge and experience to the Cariboo Cougars Program in the 2009/10 season.
Media Representative, Allan Bristowe: Allan is a proud Saskatchewan boy, but has called Northern BC his home for around 10 years. When not cheering for the Roughriders, or his beloved Ottawa Senators, Allan comes into the living rooms of Prince George residents nightly as the Sports Anchor on the CKPG News. In his time at CKPG, Allan has become well known in the local sporting community, and is a well-respected contact in Northern BC. Whether the hockey rink, the baseball diamond or the football field, if there is a story on a rising star or first timer, Allan will find it. He is supported by his wife Tammy and daughter Isabella in all his endeavours.
Play-by-Play Announcer, Alex Rawnsley: Alex is Australian born and raised, but has called Canada home since 2002. After an initial battle over the meaning of the blue-line and how offside was called, once the fundamentals were down, a love affair with the sport of hockey developed and Alex quickly realised what he'd been missing during his 15 years in Australia. A "lifelong" Canuck fan, Alex has spent countless hours studying the game, striving to become an expert in all things stick and puck. Alex has a successful history in the broadcast booth, having filled in for the Prince George Spruce Kings on a few occasions, Alex finally got his break in 2010 with the Prince George Fury. Travelling the country (and even down into the US) with the start-up indoor soccer franchise allowed Alex to further develop his talent for play-by-play, and is now ready to return back to centre ice. Off the ice, Alex works as the Director of the CKPG News, referees soccer and plays cricket.
